Hong Kong's top hockey clubs met face to face in contesting for prize money for the first time at the Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament at King's Park on 21-22 March 2009. League champions Shaheen collected another major trophy as they won HK$15,000 in the two-day tournament, which features seven Premier Division teams plus First Division club Elite.
Consulate General of Islamic Republic Pakistan in Hong Kong organized this tournament with co-operation of Hockey Association of Hong Kong.
In sposnosrships Perrier lead the team as title sposnor with co-oprations of Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, Pakistan Traders Association of Hong Kong, Fanlnik Group, Qureshi Sunglases, Keywin Trading Ltd, Hua Dao Shipping, AMSUS (HK) Ltd and many others. Hats Off to their efforts!!!
This was a well-managed tournament by the team of high professional organizers made this event absolutely gorgeous. Not only teams and players, public of Hong Kong enjoyed it a lot also.
Dr. Ahmad Balal Consul General of Pakistan lead his organizing team with Sheikh Amjad Mahmood (Tournament Chairman), Mukhtar Singh (Co-Chairman), Ahmed Khan (Event Manager), Capt. Shazada Saleem (Member), Qamar Minhas (Member), Syed Jamil Raghbi (Member), Shabir Hussain (Member), Amjid Ali (Member), Mohammad Fayyaz (Member), Liaqat Ali (Member), with an absolute discipline and smooth work.
Ahmad Khan played a key role with Amjad Mahmood, which cannot be described in words, and here we must give huge credit to Mohammad Fayyaz who helped the tournament organizers to secure the Perrier’s Sponsorship for this tournament.
Perrier is a very big and famous name in sponsoring the sport in the Hong Kong. And it’s a great pleasure for Hockey lovers now that Perrier will continue its support for this event as this event has been announced a regular annual event.
Efforts to design this tournament and completing it with a huge success have shown that someone really planed everything and covered every angle. Prizes were really encouraging, and volunteers, sponsors, umpires & officials, teams and players everyone looked happy and rewarded well for their hard work and efforts!!
Food arrangements were also nice arranged by Jashan!!!
The best part, which Geo Dhola TV is very pleased to express here, was, tournament organizers really appreciated Geo Dhola TV’s efforts and hard work for video coverage of the entire tournament.
Tauseef Bukhari received a shield from Dr. Ahmad Balal for his great efforts and also big applause from the entire crowd!!!
